Icarus is a large-format work in which Cosmin Marian Guta reinterprets the myth of Icarus through a powerful contemporary image. A winged young man dominates the scene, suspended in the air between ascent and impending fall, embodying both the longing and the risk of flying beyond human limits.

The vibrant, energetic background is built with dynamic brushstrokes evoking a turbulent sky, with shades suggesting heat, speed, and movement. The protagonist’s wings, rendered with rich texture, contrast with the serene calm of his face, conveying a blend of courage, fragility, and contemplation.
