Memoria Mundi conceives knowledge as a sacred construction—an architecture raised over time through the slow and constant accumulation of human thought. The library ceases to be a functional space and becomes a symbolic structure, a cathedral where learning is revealed as an act of dedication, discipline, and continuity.
The books, stacked like endless walls, embody collective memory: layers of voices, experiences, and ideas that support the present and make it possible to imagine the future. There is no fixed hierarchy or linear order; knowledge appears as a stratified body in which contradictions, errors, and discoveries coexist organically.
Light occupies a central place in the work. Descending from above, it does not seek to reveal everything, but rather to establish a dialogue between interior and exterior. It functions as a threshold, a connecting element between the inner space of memory and the outer world of experience. Illumination thus becomes partial and ephemeral revelation, reminding us that all understanding is fragmentary.
On the floor, a world map transformed into a carpet turns the space into territory. Reading is traveling; thinking is movement. The body stands upon the world, reinforcing the idea that knowledge is born from lived experience and inevitably returns to it.
